I was born in Manitowoc County, WI and graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a B.S. degree in Medical Illustration (Arts & Graphics).
I served in the Army Security Agency at the 7th RRFS at Udorn & Ubon - Thailand, Vint Hill Farms - VA and Karamursel - Turkey. I ETS'd from the Army as a Sp5.
I was employed at a large Research Laboratory at Penn State University, serving as the Lab's webmaster.
After I left military service, I became an apprenticed photographer to a prominent professional photgrapher in Manitowoc. After earning my Journeymanship in the trade of commercial and portrait photography, I struck out on my own.
My wife and I purchased a photography studio in central PA and operated a successful portrait and commercial photography business for over twenty years. After we adopted a special needs daughter, I joined the staff of photograpers at the largest research lab at Penn State to get health care for her. For five years I both operated our business and worked full time at PSU which took its toll on my family. I eventually closed down our studio to work solely at PSU.
I soon was migrated from photography to developing and maintaining the lab's websites as their webmaster. In this position, I learned to design and maintain content on the Internet. I've been doing this for over 25 years and thoroughly enjoy this type of work.
